Joey Vanderveer: art teacher, husband, father & five-time Family Feud participant (no really – ask him about it sometime)! Joey has the voice of an angel and a heart of gold and that comes out in his passionate work as a DJ and live performer. Get to know him more below:

Hey, I’m Joey Vanderveer! I have loved making music since the first time I picked up a guitar as a teenager. It wasn’t long before I found the perfect way to combine my passion for music and my passion for people to become a fantastic & enthusiastic DJ! I love meeting newly engaged couples and helping them plan out the most fun part of their special day…the reception! Let’s plan an awesome party!

When it comes to my clients and their weddings, I will do everything in my power to make it the most fun night that will be remembered for years to come! I never let the dance floor go empty and I’ll keep the crowd bustin’ a move all night long to tunes that truly fit your style.

As a husband and father of five, I also love every minute that I get to spend with my family. I was an Associate Pastor for 4 years and am now an elementary school art teacher when I’m not playing music at events as the DJ & MC. Fun fact – I am also an identical twin!

I am also part of our IYN Live division! I can DJ & MC your event, and also provide a live music set during your ceremony, dinner, cocktail hour or for a special first dance! Check out samples of my performances at iynlive.com.

Hiring a DJ can be so tricky and nerve-racking as they really set the tone for your evening. I could not recommend IYN, Joey, and the entire team more. We started off with a pretty basic package. Just DJ services. But as we continued in the process, we kept adding services. We even went so far as to add on Joey playing live guitar and singing during dinner about 14(?) days before the wedding (less than a month out, I know that for sure). I’m so happy we did this as everyone loved it! We got so many compliments on this and it added such an intimate feel to dinner. Beyond logistics, you can truly feel the love and care the team puts into your day. It’s not just another wedding for them. Joey took so much time to get to know us, what we were looking for, and extra ways to make it special. I can’t recommend the team enough. They’re a vendor truly on your side.

Working with ‘It’s Your Night Entertainment’ and specifically Joey was an amazing experience. He is easily one of our favorite vendors. We were able to meet with Joey multiple times, so he got a feel for our style and what exactly we were looking for with our wedding. Joey played such good music and our guests were engaged the entire time! It also helped that Joey appeared to be truly enjoying what he was doing and our guests fed off his energy! They were even dancing on the way to the buffet, which set the tone for the rest of the evening! People were on the dance floor all night long! They also provided lighting that we needed to neutralize some of the bright colors we didn’t love about our venue, which was set up perfectly. We cannot speak more highly of ‘It’s Your Night Entertainment’ and would definitely recommend using them for any of your wedding or entertainment needs.

Joey was our DJ he did an amazing job all our guests raved about the music and loved their glow package. He helped make our wedding evening run smoothly and was just overall and amazing guy. We also had the photo booth and that was an absolute hit we got copies of all the photos with a little note from our guest I just love that idea. And the girls running the Photo Booth were amazing and sure sweet.

Joey and IYN made our whole wedding atmosphere exactly how we wanted it. It was fun, elegant, and a show stopper. Joey sang live for our guests during cocktail hour and during dinner. This was one of our guests favorite parts of the whole wedding!! He announced us in and got the party started, and had the best transitions to get our guests up and on the dance floor. He read the room with his song choices and catered to a wide range of ages we had in attendance. Their planning process was one of a kind and they offer so many services we utilized. One of our favorite parts after coming home was seeing our photo booth guest took with so many pictures and notes from our guests. We also got the glow party package and lighting for the head tables and cake, which made the ambiance so amazing!! Their team was amazing to work with and made the reception so fun. We recommend IYN 10/10!!

We absolutely loved having Joey and his team as our DJ for our Louisiana wedding! From the very beginning, Joey and the IYN team were super informative and kind.
