This week we are featuring our friends at Silverbear Creative – Allison, Kris & Ryan! We love Silverbear because of their unique style of photography and amazing ability to capture the most raw and candid moments that are great memories for couples to cherish for years after their big day. This small but mighty family team averages 40-50 weddings each year and they love working creatively together to capture madly in love couple’s best day ever in photo and video! Simply put, they capture beauty, life, and love…UNSCRIPTED.
We caught up with the team to get to know them and their work a bit more!
When and how did you get started in the wedding industry?
Allison has been photographing weddings for 10 years and Kris & Ryan started shooting films 7 years ago. We combined our talents and started our business 5 years ago as a photo/video team and have worked so well as a team ever since!
Describe your photography style in 5 words or less.
Authentic, organic, romantic & creative
Can you share a fun or funny moment that has happened at an event?
Every wedding is different but we seem to always end up on the dance floor with our couples at every wedding, dancing the night away while working at the same time! The Silver Bears are dancers…we can’t help ourselves!
What is your secret for staying calm when something doesn’t go right at a wedding? And how do you turn the mood around to capture happiness in a time where the client may be anything but?
We’ve learned from experience to just go with the flow! We never add to any stress during the day and with our laid-back personalities and we try to get our couple’s minds off what is wrong or didn’t go right by making them laugh and having fun. Before you know it, it all works out and we end up partying the night away. Don’t sweat the little stuff!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The relationships we have built with our couples is really the most rewarding part. We love not only providing awesome services for them on their big day, but we love following along in their journeys and watching them build families.
If you could pick one moment during the entire wedding day, what is
your favorite to shoot?
We love private last dances or sneaking away during the reception to do some romantic night shots. And of course the golden hour sunset with our couples!
During these trying times of navigating wedding planning during this pandemic, what advice would you give to couples that are in the midst of planning?
Weddings may look different from now on, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t plan the perfect day that accurately portrays you and your fiancé as a couple. Smaller weddings tend to be more romantic and intimate so your photos and films will definitely reflect that!
How can couples get in contact with you?
Thank you, Kris, Allison & Ryan!
