Planning the Sermon on the Mount with The Chosen TV Series

March 4, 2021 by itsyouradmin Weddings 0 comments

Right before the big winter freeze, our office looked a bit different, as our team was out in the middle of a field in Midlothian, Texas working with the cast and crew of famous TV series, The Chosen! For the last few months, The Chosen has been filmed in the area and the production team brought us on for a very special scene to finish off season two – The Sermon on the Mount.

If you’re not familiar with the show, it is the first ever multi-season show about the life of Jesus Christ and the cool thing about this show is that it is 100% crowdfunded. For this monumental scene, more than 2,500 extras dressed in head-to-toe first-century attire, cast & crew were brought in from all over the country, being COVID-19 tested multiple times to ensure all safety precautions were taken.

William is friends with one of the producers from Out of Order Studios and he brought our team on to plan a 14-hour event around the filming of The Sermon on the Mount, including audio/visual production, VIP talent performances, merchandise sales, catering and more!

The biggest part of our day was the stage entertainment with special performances by our very own IYN Live performers: Joey Vanderveer and Jeremiah Brinkley, Austin-natives: Willow City Band, hilarious comedian: Michael Jr. & world-renowned musicians: Phil Wickham, Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes.

Our favorite moment was when Phil Wickham, Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes gathered everyone at The Mount to perform “The Blessing” before filming the final scene. Prepped to be extras dressed in first-century clothing, this was a powerful performance before the Sermon on the Mount. Check out what we captured here:

Although it was windy and freezing cold all day long, the icy rain luckily held off just until director, Dallas Jenkins, called “cut” on the final shot – that was definitely a God moment. The event was nothing short of remarkable and the attendees were so excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

We want to give a big thank you to The Chosen, VidAngel Studios & Out of Order Studios for including us in this event and to Jacqueline Events for helping us plan such an epic day!

We also couldn’t have done this event without this vendor dream team: Showtech Productions, Top Tier Event Rentals, Big D Party Rentals, Wolfgang Puck Catering, Premier Transportation, Texas Johns, Metro Golf Carts, Rental One, Midlothian Police & Fire Departments, Midlothian ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium, Hoblitzelle Camp & hundreds of volunteers to make this happen.
